June 1, 2013 – Early Response Basic Training Course. DAKOTAS Annual Conference – Brookings FUMC, 625 5^th St, Brookings, SD 57006. 8:30am – 4:30pm. Cost $35. Be among the first to help after a disaster. Trainer is Becky Holten. Early Response Teams (ERTs) fill a specific need in the days soon after a natural disaster. ERTs remove debris, clean out flood-damaged homes and help to prevent further property damage while providing a caring Christian presence. ERTs are different from general volunteers because we are trained, have security background checks and are entirely self-sufficient. You must submit to a background check to take this course. That cost is covered by the Dakotas Conference Disaster Response Committee. The ERT Basic Class provides the basic skills for you to become a member of the Early Response Team.  Link to Register.
