"Mission u" Southern Site (formerly School of Christian Mission)
Dakotas School of Christian Mission, Southern site 2012, now to be called Mission U
Over 100 men, women, youth and children will gather this summer July 11-14 at DWU in Mitchell, SD and July 18-21 at Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND, for enlightening and educational studies and fun at Mission u, formerly School of Christian Missions. Attendees will learn of another culture, of how others live and love and struggle or thrive, and of God’s call to us through scripture and the Sacraments. This year’s topics of study are: Poverty, led by Deanna Hawkins; The Roma of Europe led by Dr. Kimberly Kavenly; and Living Sacramentally, Walking Justly, led by Rev. Dayne Zachrison.
The southern site offers exciting programs (camp on campus!), one for youth led by Pat Siefken and Rev. Scott McKirdy; and one for children led by Colleen McKirdy and Jane Hazen. Both camps will emphasize migration and what it means for people in the past and now.
