Cross walk creates a visual journey to Easter

ABERDEEN. SOUTH DAKOTA – Forty crosses line the front of Aberdeen First United Methodist Church.  As you walk along the sidewalk by the crosses you can see the passion, sacrifice, and resurrection of Christ symbolized in art.

Each cross represents one of the forty days of lent, from Ash Wednesday through Easter morning.  Ron Lyren and Lawrence Shanley, members of Aberdeen First United Methodist Church, made the wooden crosses.

Members and groups of the church were asked to take a cross and decorate it.  The variety of art and symbolization creates a diverse visual experience for those who chose to walk the journey.
