Living out Wesley’s Covenant Prayer in Dickinson

By: Doreen Gosmire, director of communications and Dave Stucke, communications associate

God is on the move in Dickinson, North Dakota. Wesley’s Covenant Prayer describes missional life devoted to following Jesus and serving as Christ's representative in the world he loves and is working to redeem. United Methodists in Dickinson, North Dakota are living out the prayer as they launch a new congregation. Nothing can stop this group of Christ followers from connecting with God and each other, not even disaffiliation.

The charter journey is underway. Worshippers started gathering as Dickinson United Methodist Church in the summer of 2021 after the disaffiliation of the former Prairie Winds United Methodist Church.

Meeting on October 30, 2022 for a charge conference under the direction of Rev. Joel Winckler, Northwest District Superintendent of the Dakotas Conference, a vote was taken to move ahead with the chartering process at Dickinson United Methodist Church. Read about Dickinson UMC's vote to charter
