Compass
The 2024 General Conference approved a new retirement plan named Compass that will be implemented Jan. 1, 2026. (The current plan will stop accepting service accrual Dec. 31, 2025.) Here are some resources to help you learn about Compass:

The Clergy Retirement Security Plan (CRSP) is a retirement plan paid for by the local church on behalf of the appointed clergy. The plan will be replaced by Compass effective January 1, 2026. Any accumulated accruals/balances will remain in the clergy person’s account.
The United Methodist Personal Investment Plan (UMPIP) is an optional 403(b) retirement plan for clergy payroll deduction contributions (Before-Tax, After-Tax, and/or Roth). Effective January 1, 2026, clergy UMPIP account contributions will be made to Compass.
Other clergy retirement plans: Some clergy with service dating back prior to 2007 may have retirement benefits available through the Ministerial Pension Plan (MPP) and Pre-82 Pension Plan.
