Winter Connection is an annual event for middle school and high school youth that takes place in the Bismarck, Rapid City, and Sioux Falls this year. This is an opportunity for youth to gather, share, worship, and serve others. Each year there is a focus on a particular theme and scripture along with a unique and important component of service. Our theme for 2020 is "Love Is" Our scripture is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
Join us for an amazing time of training, sharing and connection for pastors and lay leaders that work with youth in churches across the Conference. Youth Worker Academy will be held at Storm Mountain Center on April 17-19, 2020. Our guest presenter will be Chris Hansen of Yellow Ribbon and Leadership Harbor.
This camp is perfect for churches, youth groups, or individuals that want to come help with some service projects but also have fun. Come help us perform a variety of much needed projects around camp. In addition to working around camp, participants will have time to swim, play games, and have devotions. Families will room together. Youth may come by themselves if they are 11 and older. Counselors will supervise them.
This camp is designed for a parent, grandparent, or important adult to share that first camp experience with their child(ren). Come join us for 24 hours of fun. Stay in the beautiful retreat center. Bring your favorite teddy bear and come meet new friends. Ages: Adult(s) with child(ren) up to age 7.
Are you interested in being a camp counselor someday? Would you like to help as a Counselor-in-Training this summer? Spend two days learning to be a part of the camp leadership team and earn a Dakotas UM Camping CIT certificate. Put your new skills to the test by signing up as a CIT for WAC June SonSeekers, which starts June 7. After completing your certification, you are welcome to serve as a CIT at any of our Dakotas UM Camps locations! CIT space is limited, and approval required from the site director at each location. Take a break from your normal summer routine. Come spend some time with God and friends at camp. The pace of this camp is geared for school-aged through older mentally and/or physically challenged campers. There will be activities, crafts, campfires, lots of music, and Bible studies. A camp buddy (caregiver) may register and accompany each camper (at no charge) and participate in all camp activities. Ages: Special needs age 10 up to Adult
A great beginning camp experience. Bring an adult shepherd or come on your own. We pack action, fun, and learning into two quick days. Swim in our heated outdoor pool. Canoe with a friend. Join us in group games like gaga ball, 4-square, and 9-square in the air. Grow in faith while learning about God’s son, Jesus Christ, who loves and rejoices with all who seek. Grades: K-4
