Special Youth Ministry Presentation Thursday, June 9, 6:30 pm
Author and consultant Stephanie Caro, Youth Ministry Architects, will present on June 9, from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Roosevelt / Lincoln Room, prior to the Lay Servant Ministry Reception. Youth Ministry Architects and Dakotas Conference Leadership Development have designed the Youth Ministry Architects Training Cohort Plan. The plan will help parishes produce healthy, sustainable youth ministries by strengthening the lay leaders and staff within their congregation, designing a ministry plan, and growing congregational support of the targeted ministry. FALL ELISHA INTERN APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 1st
Elisha Interns for the summer have been announced (read more here), but applications for Fall ELISHA Intern positions are still being taken until June 1st.
The Elisha Project is a college internship program designed to assist these young people as they sense God’s call upon their life in a specific way and to help them to discern more fully what God is calling them to do. Internships between interested local churches and college students who have completed at least their first year of school will be negotiated with the church, the student, and the DAC Board of Ordained Ministry.

Looking for Bus Chaperone to Storm Mountain week of July 24th -29th
Dakotas Camping is looking for bus chaperones for the week of July 24th – July 29th. You will start in Brookings, SD and ride the bus across the state to Storm Mountain. Responsibilities include taking roll, counting noses after each stop and keeping the children and youth on the bus safe. The days between Sunday and Friday are yours to spend as you wish in retreat or volunteering at Storm Mountain or if you have friends in the Hills you are free to visit and tour with them. ReNew could use a helping hand

Last year, some pastors inquired about youth mission trips to Kenmare. We are now ready for some extra help!
At the moment, we need volunteers to mud and sand drywall, as well as insulate and sheetrock a bathroom. Next will be priming and painting the ceiling and walls, then staining and sealing the floor. Besides that, there are some tasks in the basement - breaking up some concrete floor and hauling it out, sweeping and cleaning, organizing, and some other demo work. Outside, we need treated wood railings installed on the fire escape and lots of stucco work done on the bricks.
It would be great if we could find handy adults, too. Just thought I'd throw this out there to see what interest there might be.
For housing, there are two 2-bedroom apartments, each with their own bathroom and shower in the upstairs of the church. Females and males would each have their own space. Nothing fancy, but sufficient. I would suggest sleeping bags on the floor.
Lay speaking retreat
This retreat is great for those seeking to renew their lay speaking status or to become a Certified Lay Speaker. The retreat will begin Aug 19th with registration and check-in at 6pm (MDT). The first session begin at 7pm (MDT) and conclude by 8:30 am (MDT) on Sunday so that you can experience worship in the Rapid City area. Cost of retreat $150 per person.
