Associate Director of Missional Impact named

Mike Flowers has been selected to serve as the Dakotas Conference’s Associate Director of Missional Impact, effective January 1, 2014.  “Mike’s heart resonates with our conference vision of healing a broken world and his proven leadership demonstrates his capacity to help our churches discover fresh energy to extend their missional impact,” according to Rev. Greg Kroger, Dakotas Conference Director of Ministries.  “He will work with the Extended Cabinet and with the Extending the Local Church Link to lead and resource our strategic efforts in this vision pathway,” Kroger added.

Flowers will continue to oversee the Spirit Lake Ministry Center on the Spirit Lake Nation in North Dakota, as well as the Conference’s Children of the Harvest ministries.  His wife, Libby, joins him in that work.  With her increasing support and through the addition of paid and volunteer support staff at the Ministry Center, Flowers will have the ability to take on the new responsibilities of the missional impact position.

Mike and Libby have served as conference missionaries since 2007.  He is now a Licensed Local Pastor and is attending the Native American Course of Study.  Previously, he worked as a District Loss Prevention Supervisor for Wal-mart.  He is also retired from the United States Air Force.  Mike explains that he has witnessed God do amazing things on the Spirit Lake Nation and is very excited to be following God’s call in this next chapter of ministry.  Mike and Libby have two grown children and two grandchildren.
