In just three weeks, United Methodists from across Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota will gather in Sioux Falls for the REACH! Event. The event will be a time of learning together from our excellent roster of presenters. Participants will leave with tested methods and tactics to reach new people in your community.
Bishop Ough has written a prayer that is available below, and in a PDF that contains bookmarks you can cut out and distribute to your congregation. (Download PDF with bookmarks.). Congregations and individuals are encouraged to pray for the event. Prayer to prepare the hearts and minds of all those gathering and to bring passion back to local churches to reach new people for Jesus.
Join this breakthrough prayer movement. Share this prayer with your worship leader and use it in worship on the Sunday before REACH! Share it with your church staff and encourage them to pray it daily leading up to REACH! Designate a specific time each day when you pause and pray this prayer.
Please note that REACH! will take place at Embrace Church’s 57th Street campus (2800 E. 57th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). Thank you for your commitment to reaching the next person for Christ.
Breakthrough prayer from Bishop Ough:
Gracious and Holy God, pour out your Spirit power and blessing on the REACH convocation.
Work through this gathering of your people to revive our passion for creating new places and reaching new people, all to your glory, O God.
Guide the speakers, teachers, and hosts, that they may inspire and equip us to become a “Great Commission” people across the Dakotas-Minnesota Area.
Prepare my congregation and me even now, to embrace, with renewed energy, commitment, and focus, the learnings we will receive and Jesus’ command to go—go and make new disciples equipped to transform the world.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, savior, and friend. Amen.
