“Everyone whom the Father gives to me will come to me,
and I won’t send away anyone who comes to me.”
Dear Faithful Followers of Christ,
As we enter into spring, we also enter into a time of transformation, new life, and growth. In partnership with the Dakotas United Methodist Foundation, the Builders Club has chosen to support the Milnor United Methodist Church in Milnor, ND. Milnor UMC is hoping to bring new transformation and growth to their church as they reach with welcoming arms out into their community.
Milnor UMC is a place where everyone is welcome, and the doors are always open. Unfortunately, the church is not currently handicap accessible, which prevents some people from the community the ability to enter their doors. “To reach more people and grow God’s love, first we need to get them in the door and if there are physical barriers and facilities that don’t allow for inclusion then we will not be able to accomplish God’s mission for our church” says project coordinator, Kristine Askerooth.
Actively seeking to grow their mission and outreach to the community, the Milnor UMC hopes to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members of the Milnor and surrounding community. Their hope is to do so by making the church handicap accessible in the following ways: updating the bathrooms to ADA standards, replacing two sanctuary pews to allow for wheelchairs, and widening the entrance doors for accessibility to those with limited mobility. Along with these ADA adaptations, Milnor seeks to replace the cracked and uneven sidewalk and parking lot and install central air throughout their building. All in the hopes of discipling new community members and inviting them to worship.
We ask that you prayerfully consider a gift of $20 or more to the Dakotas Conference Builders Club. The gifts for this call will be received until June 30, 2018. Please send your gift to: Builders Club, Dakotas Conference Center, PO Box 460, Mitchell, SD 57301. Or donate online.
For the first call of 2018, the Dakotas Conference Builders Club will present $9,500 to Open Heart United Methodist Church (formerly South Maple UMC) in Rapid City, SD. We thank you for your continued generosity and support!
We hope you will support our current call to Milnor UMC and we invite you to encourage others to join the Builders Club. Your support will help Milnor UMC to create a safe and welcoming environment for all to gather in their sanctuary with the hopes of continuing their ministry and breathing new life into the Milnor community.
Yours in Christ's Love,
Bishop Bruce R. Ough
Thank You from Open Heart UMC
