Called: Geoff's story

By: Dave Stucke, communications associate, Dakotas UMC

Everyone's path to ministry is unique. To highlight this diversity of God's calling in the Dakotas Conference, Geoff Hilton explains how an invitation to attend Minot Vincent UMC in Minot, North Dakota, was followed by an invitation to help with Sunday school. The invitations kept coming to step further into ministry, and the folks at Velva United Methodist Church in Velva, North Dakota, are deeply grateful that Geoff has answered God's call, over 14 years. His ministry is enriched by the community contact he has through his "day job", and his work there benefits from his ministry in the church.

Rev. Geoff Hilton now serves as the pastor at Velva UMC. He also works as the controller at the local Dakota Midland grain elevator. His bi-vocational ministry role is helping him and his congregation to grow in the love of God and neighbor. (Recorded before the COVID pandemic)
