Because of COVID-19, the Dakotas Conference will change the collection and distribution of UMCOR kits this fall. To keep everyone safe UMCOR school and hygiene kits will not be collected at a central place and delivered to the UMCOR depot. Instead, congregations are encouraged to reach out to their local communities and Dakotas Conference mission ministry. Watch for upcoming announcements about gifts to our conference mission ministries for our 2020 Annual Conference Miracle Offering. 

School kits

Local churches are encouraged to adopt the schools in their communities and buy school supplies for teachers and students. Get started by contacting local school officials and find out the safest and best way to help students and teachers get equipped for the school year.  If you have already collected items for school kits check with your local schools to see how they might use these items. Bakken Oil Rush Ministry—Out in Faith will accept items already purchased for school kits if they can be received by August 1. 

Hygiene kits

Your Dakotas Conference mission ministries need your support especially during the season of the pandemic. Contact one of the Dakotas Conference mission ministries listed below and see how you can support their efforts. One of the ways that may be most helpful is to purchase and send gift cards or order specific items, identified as a need by the ministry, online. Online orders and gift cards reduce shipping and keep everyone safe.  Bakken Oil Rush Ministry—Out in Faith will take items for hygiene kits that have already been purchased.
