Creating Safe and Sacred Places in your Church

A former janitor at a Casper, Wyoming church recently pleaded not guilty to molesting three girls while apparently posing as a youth leader there.  Could this type of situation occur in your church?

Jodi Cataldo, Director of Leadership Development, recently conducted a workshop on the Dakotas Conference’s practices and policies related to Safe and Sacred Places at Spearfish United Methodist Church, Spearfish, South Dakota.

“Wow, this really opened my eyes to many different practices and processes in our church that we need to consider to create a safe place and protect all those who come through our church doors, “ stated Janelle Jones, Spearfish UMC who attended the workshop.
