Dakotas-Minnesota Area worship service of lament

By: Dakotas-Minnesota communication team

Bishop Ough led a worship service of lament, together with Dakotas and Minnesota clergy, near the site where George Floyd was killed. This communion service, calls United Methodists to recognize racism as a sin, commit to challenging unjust systems, and to join in the work of liberating the oppressed. The video is available to congregations for use in worship.

Portions of this service were part of The United Methodist Church's Dismantling Racism: Pressing On To Freedom initiative. United Methodist church leaders conducted a service of lament, inviting United Methodists across the connection to join in a time of repentance, communion and commitment as the church examines racial injustice.
