Diane Weller to serve as Donor Relations and Development Coordinator

Diane Weller will serve as the Donor Relations and Development Coordinator to the Dakotas United Methodist Foundation beginning February 10, 2016.  This is a position that has been redefined to focus on building strong relationships with donors. She brings over ten years of experience in business and customer service.

Weller is transferring to this position from the Dakotas Camping Office. She began working for Dakotas Camping office in 2012 as the summer assistant and continued through 2014. In July of 2014, Weller started working full-time in the Dakotas Camping Office as the office coordinator.  She brings experience working at Dakota Wesleyan University, Wells Fargo Bank and the offices of two local churches.

“What I've enjoyed most during my time in the camping ministry is working together with families, pastors, youth leaders, volunteers and our site directors, to provide camp experiences for youth and adults,” said Weller. “As I move to my new position in the Foundation, I look forward to building relationships with people across the Dakotas and hearing their stories. I'm excited to be part of furthering the ministries of our conference."

The Donor Relations and Development Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors and staff to advance the mission of the Dakotas United Methodist Foundation to inform, engage and build investment in all internal and external constituencies. Specific duties include stewardship programs, acknowledgements, coordinating signature events and communications with Foundation donors.

“I’m excited to have Diane join our staff,” said Executive Director Sheri Meister.  “As we continue to build our donor base, Diane’s love for people and interest in their stories will enhance the relationships and offer new opportunities throughout the Foundation.”

Diane and her husband Keith live in Mitchell, South Dakota. Keith serves as the Systems Administrator for Dakota Wesleyan University. The Wellers have two sons: Sam is in his first year of college and Andrew is in the 10th grade. They spend most of their time keeping up with high school and college activities and are actively involved at Mitchell Wesleyan Church.
