In our hearts: Betty Ann Boulton

Betty Ann Fisher Boulton, 88, formerly of Lathrop, MO, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Mercy Hospital, Canton, OH, from complications following surgery. Betty was the widow of Bishop Edwin C. Boulton who served the Dakotas Conference 1980-1988.

After being elected to the episcopacy and  moving to Fargo, North Dakota , Betty enrolled at Concordia College in Moorehead, Minnesota, where she played several outstanding pipe organs and studied choral directing under Paul Christianson.  A degree of Bachelor of Music in 1986 followed study with Russell Saunders at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.  In 1987, Betty studied with Dr. Robert Parkins, and played the great Flentrop organ at the University Chapel at Duke.
