Jesus has just returned to shore after a time away alone for personal renewal. Now it’s time to get back to work. There are people—hurting people—who are anxious to see him.

Throughout his short ministry, people were drawn to Jesus. Surely it was his compassion that drew them, but also something more. In Jesus the people sensed someone with the resources needed to meet their needs.

The demands on Jesus were many. It was only because he drew from such a deep well of compassion that he was able to touch others and bring healing. Love is that way; it provides when the need is great.
