Micheal McMenamy, a member of Sioux Falls Asbury United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota was elected the President of the Association of Lay Conference Directors of Lay Speaking Ministries (ACDLSM). 

The election took place at the convocation of ACDLSM held in San Diego, California.  McMenamy represented the Dakotas Conference at the convocation. 

The Association of Conference Directors of Lay Speaking Ministries was established to promote Lay Servant Ministries in the United Methodist Church and to work with the General Board of Discipleship to develop new courses for leadership development and spiritual enrichment for Lay Servants.

The purpose of the Association of Conference Directors of Lay Speaking Ministries, a non-profit organization, is to promote and support the Lay Servant Ministries Program of the United Methodist Church. Its mission is to equip the laity to fulfill their evangelistic, nurturing, and witnessing responsibilities that affirm the work of Jesus Christ. The Association is to act as an advocate and advisor for Lay Servant Ministries to the General Board of Discipleship and assist in promoting their programs. The Association will enable and promote a mutual ministry of and by the laity and the clergy, so that their individual strengths may be best utilized to further the work of Jesus Christ.
