(A note of thanks from the Rev. Debra Ball-Killbourne and the members Minot Faith UMC to the people of the Dakotas Conference)

Dear Friends,

Faith United Methodist Church and its pastor wish to express our deep  appreciation for the many kindnesses of many of you in the Dakotas who have come to lend a hand in rebuilding homes and lives since the Souris Basin flood.  The devastation is still readily seen—but each day headway is being made. 

One of the visible signs is the relocation of Faith’s congregation, which will take place mid-fall.  14 acres and a new church home await our congregation along a major thoroughfare for both the US Air Force Base and housing developments.  It is a new opportunity for us—and for Minot.  We thank the Dakotas Conference for every dollar provided at annual conference as phones and texts somewhat miraculously “went off” and fines were given.  We will always be humbled by the funds received by congregations and individual United Methodists throughout the conference—some as low as a single $1.00 from a Sunday School child—which touched our souls.

Healing from disasters is a lengthy process.  We anticipate that it will literally take years to rebuild the homes devastated from the flood—and many more for lives to heal.  But, you have helped a congregation in its initial steps to relocate and we give God much thanks for you!
