General Conference Breakthrough Prayer

I believe. I believe that General Conference is a form of Holy Conferencing and that you, O God, will show up. I believe your promises throughout the ages, still ring true: that you are our refuge, we need not fear, and that by the indwelling of your Holy Spirit, you are with us and work through us. Therefore, Holy and Compassionate God – guide us through this General Conference with your grace, your wisdom, and your peace. Break through anything that keeps us from embodying a Christ-like character and experiencing the transforming power of your love. This we ask in the name of the one who is our Savior, our Hope, and our Lord – Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

Bishop Lanette Plambeck has prepared a Breakthrough Prayer for General Conference. You and your entire congregation are invited to pray the prayer daily, especially April 23-May 3.

Feel free to use the video prayer durng worship or on social media. There is also bookmark version to print, cut, and distribute; and a digital graphic for screens and social media.

The General Conference Breakthrough Prayer is part of the 100 Days of Prayer initiative of the Dakotas-Minnesota Area. Here are some ideas for infusing the prayer into the life of your ministry.

• Print the bookmarks, send them home with individuals, encourage everyone to pray the prayer daily April 22-May 4.
• Recite the prayer whenever and wherever people gather. Incorporate the prayer into worship, meetings and gatherings that are happening today through May 3, 2023. Use the digital version to project the pray on a screen.
• Add the prayer to a prayer group, prayer chain, and have someone recite the prayer on social media daily.
