In mid-June 111 Youth and adults from the Dakotas Conference went to the Henderson Settlement in Frakes, KY, to serve Henderson Settlement and some local people as well.
The group of voluteers built fences, painted, stained, built tables, scooped goat poop, roofed houses, and poured concrete – just to name some of the things accomplished!
Each day at the Settlement began with morning devotions, followed by work from 8:30 to 4:30 (with lunch in the middle), followed by dinner, a program from the Henderson folks, and concluded with worship and a message from the Dakotas Conference group.
John Britt, youth pastor from Rapid City First United Methodist Church, Rapid City, South Dakota was an adult leader for the Dakotas Conference team. John stated, "I am thankful to the 31 adults who went along to lead and guide and to the 80 fantastic Youth – we all worked so hard to do so much in God’s name!!"
Below are a couple of photos from the trip.
