Stella Belle Russell, 77, of Newton, Iowa, died on Monday, May 11, 2026, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. Stella is the widow of the late Reverend Roger Russell, elder of the Dakotas Conference.

Together, Stella and Roger served in the Dakotas Conference at McCabe United Methodist Church in Bismarck, North Dakota. In retirement, they served Hillsboro United Church in Hillsboro, North Dakota.

A celebration of her life and visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton, Iowa. There will be a time of sharing from 2:30 to 3 p.m.
