What Jesus Came to Do Isaiah 40:21-25

When we read this passage in Isaiah, it almost feels like a pop quiz. Have you not known? Have you not heard? Known what?! Heard what?! Reading this passage makes me feel like I should know the answer, but do I? The Israelites should have known the answers. They’ve heard the story of God’s creation of the earth, how God brought them out of exile in Egypt, how God has always been with them. But sometimes we forget the things we’re supposed to remember.

What did Jesus come to do? Jesus came to help us understand God in a new way. Jesus came as a tutor to help us understand God better. Jesus lived a life of teaching –through words and through the way he lived his life. His life was a tutorial to help us remember that God loves us and we ought to love others. Jesus didn’t just tell us that; he showed us how to do it.

What part of God do you need help understanding?
