NEW THIS WEEK

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! Dog-Eared Disciples
Dog-Eared Disciples is an invitation to read our way more deeply into the life of faith. Drawing on the ancient Christian practice of lectio divina, we will approach books not simply for information, but for formation: reading slowly and attentively, listening for what stirs, challenges, unsettles, or invites us, and allowing what we encounter on the page to deepen our relationship with God, one another, and the world. Register today for this book study initiative from Bishop Lanette Plambeck that will take place online Fall 2026-Spring 2027.

Trauma-Informed Leadership Course | Beginning October 26

How can we lead with greater awareness, care, and responsiveness? The Garrett Collective is offering Trauma-Informed Leadership, a course designed to help leaders understand the impact of trauma and explore practices for creating healthier, more supportive congregations and communities. Participants will gain practical tools and insights for engaging others with greater compassion and awareness. Learn more and register.

Breakthrough Ministry Grants | Deadline October 31
The Dakotas Methodist Foundation, in partnership with the Dakotas Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, is accepting applications for fourth-quarter Breakthrough Ministry Grants. United Methodist churches and ministry partners across the Dakotas are encouraged to apply by Oct. 31 for support that helps launch innovative ministry, extend hospitality and build meaningful relationships in their communities.

RESOURCES

World Communion Sunday | October 4

On this Special Sunday, United Methodists join Christians around the world at the table of Holy Communion. We may speak different languages, worship in different ways, and come from different cultures and backgrounds, but the bread and cup remind us that we are one in Christ. World Communion Sunday also reminds us that being one in Christ means more than gathering at the same table. It means learning to walk together.

Philippians 3:4b-14 reminds us that following Christ means reaching toward what lies ahead. On World Communion Sunday, we remember that we do not walk alone. United Methodists join Christians around the world at the Communion table, celebrating that we are one in Christ across backgrounds, languages, and cultures. Our Special Sunday offering extends that connection by supporting scholarships and leadership training for students from underrepresented communities. Together, our gifts help equip people to serve Christ and strengthen the Church. Learn more about World Communion Sunday, and find resources to share with your church here

ICYMI (In Case You Missed It)
