Retreats
Called Retreat
How do we know if God is calling? And how do we respond when God does? These are the questions that guide the Called Retreat. The retreat helps high school students look at various aspects of calling, especially around vocational ministry.
Students are identified by their local pastor as someone who is wrestling with God’s call an early age. The retreat presenters include college students discerning their call to ministry and young clergy. Attendees learn about ways in which United Methodists answer God’s call, including ordained ministry, licensed ministry and lay involvement.
The Called Retreat is a great way for youth to connect with others who are exploring their call and to learn more about ministry.
Contact your local pastor or a district superintendent for more information.
Higher Ground Retreat
The Higher Ground retreat track is offered to clergy at their eight-year junctures in ministry. The United Methodist Book of Discipline outlines the requirement that conferences provide processes for regular assessment for clergy every eight years. The Higher Ground retreat track was born out of this requirement, along with the Conference's desire to provide support and accountability for the total well-being of our Dakotas clergy.
