This calculator is to be used in calculating a parish's Pension Direct Bill for their pastor. On the
bottom, right of the calculator is an Excel icon if you want to download the calculator in Excel.
Here are the instructions:

1. Total Compensation is from Section I, Line C of the Clergy Compensation Form.
2. Status is the appointment status. There is a drop-down box you can use or else type in FE, PE, FL, FE-3/4, PL-3/4, FE-1/2, or PL-1/2. The appointment status determines if death/disability coverage (CPP) is included. For part-time ordained elders (FE-3/4 or FE-1/2), an election can be made whether or not to include this coverage.
3. Parsonage is where you enter Yes or No if the pastor lives in a parsonage. If No, you will be asked for the amount of any Cash Housing Allowance that may be provided (Section III of the Clergy Compensation Form).
4. Pension Direct Bill is the amount that should be entered in Section IV Line B of the Clergy Compensation Form.
5. For Your Information shows the breakdown of the Pension Direct Bill. It also shows the default 3% contribution that pastors may contribute to their UMPIP account (Section II Lines D or E of the Clergy Compensation Form).
