UMVIM opportunities available

The fall 2014 and early 2015 UMVIM team registrations are starting to roll in.  United Methodist Volunteers In Mission(UMVIM) journeys are particular to The United Methodist Church (UMC) and a serve in a UMC project or UMC-approved project.

Photo:  This Early Response Team (ERT) team recently deployed to Canton, SD to help with the flood damage.  This team of four from Mobridge-Selby, Sioux Falls and Brookings worked exclusively on one basement and got it all ready for rebuild!  Early Response Teams are specialized UMVIM teams. Photo submitted by Lorna Jost.

Many projects are ecumenical where the host has invited the teams to come and work with the people of that area.  The teams must have a trained leader, have Safe Sanctuaries training and adequate insurance for the mission.  All the teams below are international based but many teams also go to approved sites in the USA.   Many disaster related recovery sites are needing teams and the USA Project.  A list can be found here

The following teams are tentatively listed as coming up and any person interested can contact the team leader to see if they are eligible to embark on the journey with the team!
